EXPERIENCE

EXPERIENCE

Jun 2022 - Aug 2022

Grasim Industries Ltd

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Part of the Viscose Staple Fiber division at the Nagda plant, where I collaborated with various teams at Grasim Industries (one of India's largest manufacturing companies) to streamline machinery maintenance and project coordination. This enhanced overall equipment reliability and operational efficiency while ensuring timely component deliveries and effective communication across departments, with the main aim being carrying out predictive maintenance and reducing downtime of machinery.

Jun 2021 - Sept 2021

Production Management Intern

Classic Crowns and Closures Pvt Ltd

Effectively managed inventory to minimize stockouts and excess, optimizing cash flow and reducing carrying costs. By using data analysis tools, I improved production efficiency and reduced downtime. I conducted cost analyses for production projects, contributing to significant cost reductions. Additionally, I assisted in implementing Lean principles, including 5S and waste reduction, leading to a more streamlined production floor and better workplace organization.

Dec 2020 - Feb 2021

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Mubea Automotive Components India Pvt Ltd

Designed and prototyped mechanical components using CAD software, significantly contributing to the development of innovative automotive solutions. I led process optimization initiatives, identifying and implementing cost-effective measures that resulted in production cost reductions. My engagement in root cause analysis for mechanical failures led to the implementation of preventive maintenance strategies, enhancing equipment reliability. Additionally, I gained valuable experience on an automobile production line, developing skills in CAD and working with engineering drawings and specifications.

EDUCATION

EDUCATION

2023 - 2024

Columbia University

MS Mechanical Engineering

  • Focus in Robotics and Control

  • Relevant Coursework :

    • Robotics Studio: designing, prototyping, 3D printing and assembling a bipedal robot that moves by rowing on it's arms. Then making use of Raspberrypi to control servomotors and python libraries like PyBullet to simulate the robot to understand it's underlying physics to develop its kinematics and making it move.

    • Introduction to Robotics: study of forward and inverse kinematics for robots with various DOFs, Dynamics & Control, Jacobians, MATLAB programming for solving kinematics

    • Data Science: developed technical skills in Python and Jupyter Notebooks, delving into linear regressions, classifications, clustering, and reinforcement learning. The curriculum emphasized complex ML methods, including gradient descent, regularization, tree-based models, and neural networks, alongside statistical analysis and model optimization techniques.

    • Deep Learning & Neural Networks: in this advanced Neural Networks and Deep Learning course, I mastered a range of deep learning architectures, including CNNs and RNNs, focusing on their practical applications. The curriculum emphasized deep forward networks, backpropagation, optimization for deep learning, and regularization techniques. I also gained insights into working with modern CNN architectures and explored cutting-edge topics such as autoencoders, GANs, Transfer Learning, LSTM and variational autoencoders, equipping me with up-to-date knowledge in the rapidly evolving field of deep learning.

2019 - 2023
